Support The Linotype Daily!
The Linotype Daily began as a daily typecasting project by Dan Wood, using a Linotype (the automated typecasting machine invented in 1886 that brought on the beginning of our information age) to produce a newly written, cast in hot metal type, and then letterpress printed card documenting each day’s events from March 1st, 2019 to February 29, 2020. A fairly uneventful a year! The project continues as The Linotype Occasionally (and can be followed here on instagram), producing 2-6 prints per month as life and events demand.
To learn what others are saying about the project, you can read about in Art in Print magazine, or listen to this The Public’s Radio broadcast.

How to support the project (I’d like to buy a print!)
You can PURCHASE individual cards from the entire project by clicking the image below, or choose from the featured prints show above. When ordering an individual print, be sure to have the exact date of the card you would like.
You can also SUBSCRIBE via Patreon to have the physical prints mailed out to you! Available either as a monthly bundle, or mailed out individually hot off the press as soon as they are printed!
Collections! Is there a Linotype Daily physical set near you?
There are many public and private institutions that hold the Linotype Daily Boxed Set or Linotype Occasionally anthologies in their collections, including The Museum of Fine Arts Boston, The Cynthia Sears Artist’s Book Collection, The Providence Public Library, The Museum of Printing, and many university special collections.
